Sri Lankan women cricket team recorded a close eight-run win against Pakistan on Thursday in the first T20 match of the three-match series and avenged some pride after conceding 0-3 series defeat in ODIs recently in Sharjah.
Sri Lanka batted first and scored 151-5 in stipulated 20 overs ? thanks to unbeaten 51 runs from Dilani Manodara and 31 runs from skipper Chamari Attapatu. Sania Khan captured two wickets.
In response, Javeria Khan once again put some brave efforts and scored quick 40-run knock off 28 balls. Javeria had recorded her maiden century in the last ODI against same side on Tuesday scoring unbeaten 133 runs. Bismah Maroof also kept Pakistan in the run chase scoring unbeaten half century, however the team eventually fell short of only eight runs scoring 143-8 in 20 overs.
For Sri Lanka, Ama Kanchana and Inoka Ranaweera bowled well and captured two wickets each.
