South Shore School record a convincing 51-run triumph against Saint Paul School in the summit clash of Ian Fyfe Memorial Inter-School T20 Championship here at KGA Gymkhana Ground.
Batting first in the match, South Shore School scored 136-7 in allotted 20 overs. Zeeshan Tanvir batted well for the side and scored 50 runs. Humza Khan captured a three-wicket haul giving away 20 runs in his four overs.
In response, Saint Paul scored a paltry total of 75 runs before losing all of their wickets in 16th over. Hammad Ali top scored for the side with 33 runs. Zeeshan Tanvir captured three wickets cheaply for eight runs. Umair Paracha also captured three wickets and gave 15 runs.
During closing ceremony of the tournament, Chief Guest Asif Azeem, Chairman Karachi Sports Forum (KSF) said that organizing of tournaments named after personalities, who love sports, is a good initiative.
“On the other hand, players also get a chance to show their talent to the world during such events,” he added.
Asif further said that Late Ian Fyfe was a big name in sports journalism and KGA Gymkhana should be appreciated for regularly organizing tournament in Ian’s memory.
On the occasion, KGA Gymkhana President Lenny Dias, Tournament Secretary Andre Bernard, S D’souza, Jonathan Rogers and Mohammad Abbas Nawaz also addressed the gathering.
Zeeshan Tanvir received Player of the Final award. Finally Asif presented winning and losing trophies to the finalists’ captains.
