Pakistan’s ambidextrous sensation Yasir Jan, who was spotted by PSL franchise Lahore Qalandars during Rising Stars Program, experienced new heights of his career when he went to nets to bowl to top players from West Indies and England.
Yasir, who is currently in UK for a six-week training stint with MCC, bowled to England and West Indies players at Lord’s ahead of the third Test between the two teams.
Yasir has the unique quality of bowling at speeds of 145kmph and 135kmph from his left and right arms, respectively. He can also bowl off spin, if needed.
“It was lovely bowling to West Indies and England players. I surprised a few players by bowling with both arms. I even tried spin-bowling from both arms,” said Yasir after bowling at nets.
“The international cricketers also saw my talent and the biggest credit for this platform goes to Lahore Qalandars,” he added.
The bowler, who was described as an outstanding talent by Aaqib Javed, said that the PSL team Lahore Qalandars transformed him from zero to hero and he’s looking forward to playing the next season of PSL.
“I would like to thank Lahore Qalandars for turning me from zero to hero and for providing me the platform to get developed under them. This would not have been possible without their constant support and faith in me,” he said.
“My next aim is to come back stronger and try to play in Pakistan Super League with Qalandars,” he aimed.
Atif Rana, CEO of Lahore Qalandars, had earlier stated that Yasir is an exceptional talent and his development is extremely important, not only for Lahore Qalandars, but also for Pakistan cricket.
“Not every individual with raw talent is discovered, and even less so, encouraged. We want to ensure Yasir has every opportunity to develop as a cricketer and hone his unique talent,” Rana had said.
According to Rana, Yasir is a special talent, the only ambidextrous fast bowler of Pakistan. His development is extremely important to both us as well as for Pakistan cricket.
